This year, we will finally be able to meet in person again! Our workshop will take place at INPA in Manaus from October 3 – 6.
We will be following the successful format from the past two workshops, with only a few invited keynote lectures, and the majority of time devoted to poster sessions and discussion groups.
Like last year, students may decide to present in English or Portuguese. However, we ask everyone to include a short summary in the other language (Posters in English with a summary in Portuguese, Posters in Portuguese with a summary in English) on their poster to overcome language barriers even more.
Registration is now open for all project members until September 30. Those who want to present must register by September 3rd.
October 3 - 6, 2022.
Auditorium of the INPA, Manaus & online
Plenary sessions will be live stream on YouTube.
The focus of the workshop will be to inform the consortium about the scientific progress, to discuss data, findings, and the planning of future work.
ATTO consortium, including students and early career researchers. Project-external registrations, unless invited, will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
There will be four thematic sessions, where presenters will have 3 minutes to tease their poster, followed by a poster session. The sessions are:
- Ecosystem processes & hydrology
- Greenhouse gases & VOCs
- Physical Climate
- Aerosols & Clouds, Biogeochemistry
In addition, there will be a fifth poster session or online presentations of participants who are not in Manaus in person. The session will include posters from all topics.
In addition, the program includes some invited plenary talks, scientific and beyond, as well as plenty of time for breakout sessions and discussions of various topics.
We will offer an overnight excursion to ATTO following the workshop (Oct 7-8) for all those who have never been to the site before. There will be a sign-up sheet available during the workshop.
Information for presenters:
Presenters should prepare a poster, ideally in A0 portrait format. It should include a short summary in the other language (i.e. English posters should include a summary in Portuguese, and Portuguese posters should include a summary in English). With this, we hope to improve exchange between project members who do not speak a common language.
You can use the 3-minute presentation however you prefer (including showing a short presentation) but please consider the very limited time and do not try to show too much!
We plan to hold the workshop in person in Manaus.
However, we will monitor the development of the pandemic closely. In case of renewed travel restrictions or any other unforeseen developments, we might move to a hybrid version. We will keep you updated on any developments.
In the meantime, please check with your airline about any requirements, e.g. vaccination status or testing requirements.
