ATTO Workshop 2023

This year, our annual ATTO workshop will take place at INPA in Manaus from September 25-27.

We will be following the format from past workshops, with only a few invited keynote lectures, and the majority of time devoted to poster sessions and discussion groups.

Like last year, students may decide to present in English or Portuguese. However, we ask everyone to include a short summary in the other language (Posters in English with a summary in Portuguese, Posters in Portuguese with a summary in English) on their poster to overcome language barriers even more.

Registration is now CLOSED.

We want to allow the local organization team more time to make all necessary agreements, so we ask everyone, even our local participants, to register in due time.

For all those who wish to apply for financial support for traveling to Manaus from Brazilian funding agencies, please register by July 15.

Dates

September 25-27, 2023.

Location

Auditorium of the INPA, Manaus.

Online Access

Plenary sessions will be live streamed on YouTube. However, there will be no option for interaction for online viewers.

Focus

The focus of the workshop will be to inform the consortium about the scientific progress, to discuss data, findings, and the planning of future work.

Participants

ATTO consortium, including students and early career researchers. Project-external registrations, unless invited, will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

There will be four thematic sessions, where presenters will have 3 minutes to tease their poster, followed by a poster session. The sessions are:

  • Ecosystem Processes & Hydrology
  • Greenhouse gases & VOCs
  • Physical Climate
  • Aerosols & Clouds, Biogeochemistry

In addition, the program will include some invited plenary talks, scientific and beyond, as well as plenty of time for breakout sessions and discussions of various topics.

Presenters should prepare a poster, ideally in A0 portrait format. It should include a short summary in the other language (i.e. English posters should include a summary in Portuguese, and Portuguese posters should include a summary in English). With this, we hope to improve the exchange between project members who do not speak a common language.

We will offer an on-site printing service for posters. However, posters will have to be finished and uploaded until September 10. Click here to upload your poster. Please include your name in the filename.

If your poster is not ready until then, you may print it yourself.

You can use the 3-minute presentation however you prefer (including showing a short presentation) but please consider the very limited time and do not try to show too much!
