ATTO Workshop 2026

This year, our annual ATTO workshop will take place at INPA in Manaus from September 21-23, followed by a training on data management.

This will be an in-person, internal meeting. However, we welcome guests from our partner institutions, especially those looking for future cooperation with ATTO.

We will be following the format from past workshops, with only a few invited keynote lectures, and the majority of time devoted to poster sessions and discussion groups.

As always, students may decide to present in English or Portuguese. However, we ask everyone to include a short summary in the other language (Posters in English with a summary in Portuguese, Posters in Portuguese with a summary in English) on their poster to overcome language barriers even more.

More details on schedule, program and logistics will be announced soon, so stay tuned and save the date!

More information on the registration will follow in due course. Please check back for updates.

We want to allow the local organization team more time to make all necessary agreements, so we ask everyone, even our local participants, to register in due time. Please register by July 12.

Registration for the ATTO Workshop 2025 is finally closed. Unfortunately, we cannot accept any late registrations.
We look forward to seeing all participants in September!

Please be aware that this year, we will not be offering the poster printing service that we have provided in previous years. Please print your poster yourself and bring it with you to the relevant session.

Dates

September 21-23, 2026.

Data management hackathon: September 24, 2026 (see tab for details)

Location

Auditorium of the Bosque de Ciencia at INPA, Manaus.

Focus

The focus of the workshop will be to inform the consortium about the scientific progress, to discuss data, findings, and the planning of future work.

Participants

ATTO consortium, including students and early career researchers. Project-external registrations, unless invited, will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

There will be four thematic sessions, where presenters will have a maximum of 3 minutes to tease their poster, followed by a poster session. The sessions are:

  • Ecosystem Processes & Hydrology
  • VOCs and Greenhouse gases
  • Physical Climate
  • Aerosols & Clouds
  • Modeling

In addition, the program will include some invited plenary talks, scientific and beyond, as well as plenty of time for breakout sessions and discussions of various topics.

Check back later for the preliminary program.

Presenters should prepare a poster, ideally in A0 portrait format. It should include a short summary in the other language (i.e. English posters should include a summary in Portuguese, and Portuguese posters should include a summary in English). With this, we hope to improve the exchange between project members who do not speak a common language. Please upload your poster here for storage.

You can use the short (max 3 minutes) talk however you prefer, but please consider the very limited time and do not try to show too much!

On September 24, following the main ATTO workshop, there will be a hackathon on ATTO data management.

To participate, you can sign up for it as part of your workshop registration.
