Postdoc for remote sensing, biodiversity science and atmospheric chemistry

The University of Leipzig and the German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research (iDiv) Halle-Jena-Leipzig is looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher starting from 1 October 2022 or at the earliest opportunity.

About the position

Within the project ‘Biodiversity effects on Plant-Atmosphere interaction analysed with Remote Sensing (PARSe Biodiversity)’ we use remote sensing, pre-existing atmospheric measurements and vegetation data as well as spatial statistics to investigate biodiversity effects on gas and particle emissions at the Amazon Tall Tower Observatory (ATTO) in the Brazilian Amazon. We retrieve indicators of forest canopy biodiversity from time-series of satellite
imagery and use spatial statistics to investigate relationships between the characteristics of the source regions and gas and particle concentrations measured at the tower.
